Real name: Judith Veronica Mowatt

Jamaican singer born Judith Veronica Mowatt on December 23, 1952 in Gordon Town, St Andrew, Jamaica. She founded The Gaylettes (aka the Gaytones) in 1967 and then had a solo career from arroun 1969/70 where she also recorded under the name The Unforgettables, Nairobi Sisters, Julie Anne, Julien and Jean. She adopted the rasta spirituality and joined the "Twelve Tribes of Israel" where she met Bob Marley, Freddie McGregor and others... In 1973 she joined Rita Marley and Marcia Griffiths as the I Threes, backing vocalists for Bob Marley & The Wailers. She recorded her first LP the next year and she created her own labels as Judy M Records & Ashandan.
