The Molecules were formed in Oakland, Ca in 1990. Around 1990 there were very few bands in the world doing what the Molecules were doing, similar to the Boredoms/Ruins. The influence was to take all the music that they liked and try to do something new. Free Jazz and Improvisation, Punk and Hardcore, Prog-rock, performance art, 20 Century Classical music.
