Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, HMBKR is an quartet of electroacoustic composers featuring members of Coin Gutter (Emma Hendrix), Connect_icut (Samuel Macklin), Ejaculation Death Rattle (Ross Birdwise), and Scant Intone (Constantine Katsiris). Within this context, these four sound artists devise compositions and explore improvisation based on the fragmentation of pre­set parameters, textured abstractions, minimalist drones, non­linear narratives, and digital detritus. Their work has been showcased internationally in radio broadcasts for The Radius [Chicago], Zima FM on RadioCona , and PATCH on WMFU [Jersey City] as well as their involvement in group exhibitions such as Sound | Place at Goldsmiths University , Bullet in the Head at Le Placard Headphone Listening Festival [Hong Kong], and Radiauteur at Clandestino Festival [Göteborg].
