The musical duo of the Lima Sisters, Celia and Delia, were originally from the state of Puebla, Mexico. They recorded most of their albums for the Columbia label, of which they were exclusive artists. They also recorded "ranchero" style songs under the name of Las Atlixqueñas.

Hermanas Lima are notable within the "música tropical" of Mexico, as they recorded a large number of porros, cumbias and other danceable songs. They were famous not only in Mexico and the southern United States, but in other countries of Central and South America, especially in Colombia. Perhaps their most outstanding performances were Mi Cafetal, Te Vas Amor, Casimiro and Mi Tinajita.
