Julian ‘Jules’ Roberts (lead vocals, lead & rhythm guitar, percussion), Vern ‘Alfie’ Durrant (organ, synthesizer), Larry ‘Cocky’ Steede (acoustic piano, pianotone, synthesizer), Ralph ‘Papa’ Flood (bass, vocals), Gabre ‘Gabe’ Amlak (drums, vocals, percussions), Kevin ‘Aswad’ Wilson (lead vocals, percussions) and Johnny ‘Bat’ Battersbee (percussions) came together in the winter of 1977, out of a shared belief in Rastafarianism and deep love of reggae music. It eventually led to forming a roots reggae band called Ital Foundation.
