Swick

Real name: Danny Omerhodic

Effective period / Period of releases: 2015

Swick is Melbourne’s own well shaken can of bubbly fizzy drink. With an arsenal of releases on labels worldwide. He has quickly gained a reputation for tight drums, energetic synths and genre bending tracks.

In 2013 he released a collaborative EP with Diplo titled ‘Keep It Gully’ on Mad Decent, with the b-side ‘Dat A Freak’ becoming the basis for Jennifer Lopez’s single ‘Booty’ which features Iggy Azalea and Pitbull. His extensive work with Tkay Maidza was featured across five cuts on her mixtape at the tail end of 2014, as well as producing the opening track “Always Been” on her debut album.

Swick has now found his home on NLV Records releasing his EP Stamina and mixtape Court Composer featuring Spank Rock, Tkay Maidza, Capo Lee, Merky Ace, Nina Las Vegas, Henrik The Artist, Marcus Whale and more. Since 2018 he produced Kota Banks’ mixtape ‘PRIZE’ as well as her singles ‘Holiday’, & ‘Zoom’, ‘20 Missed Calls’ & 'BIG BUCKS’ & 'Feel Again’ he also produced Swedish rapper Lilla Namo’s EP 'BEEP BEEP’, English MC Kamakaze’s 'BLG’ & Geoblu’s 'Lingo’.

Both his DJ sets and tracks pull from a wide range of different musical styles. Swick has no care for genre but respect for all at the same time. Diplo states ‘Swick’s vibe is always a bit more broken liquid and that’s how he keeps that 4x4 uptempo fresh and bangin’. While Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs says ‘I get a buzz from Swick’s music, it feels a million miles a way from the too often conservative current house and techno sound in Europe at the moment’.
