Real name: James Lee Jamerson, Sr.

Soul bassist (born on 29.01.1938 in Edisto Island, South Carolina, died on 02.08.1983 in Los Angeles, California), who like his fellow musicians in Motown’s Funk Brothers house band, he worked for many years in obscurity — literally uncredited on records until the early '70s. But even when he was unknown, his work was immensely influential, scrutinised and mimicked by young players around the world seeking to capture his style and feel

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
As a legendary top session musician he has played with Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Marlena Shaw, Originals, Creative Source etc.
