Peter Gordeno

Born: 20 June 1939 in Rangoon, Burma. Died: 18 October 2008 in London, England. Peter Gordeno was a Dancer, recording artist, cabaret singer, choreographer, and occasional actor.

After appearing as a dancer in the TV movie Dick Whittington in 1963 and TV series' Mainly Millicent and It's Tarbuck in 1964, he had a credited role as Peter in the 1966 film Secrets of a Windmill Girl which starred April Wilding, Pauline Collins and Derek Bond. From 1970 to 1971 he appeared in six episodes as Captain Carlin in the sci-fi TV series UFO which starred Ed Bishop, Dolores Mantez, George Sewell and Michael Billington The series also featured Harry Baird who Gordeno had appeared with in an earlier film.

His recording career goes back to the early 1960s. In 1962, he had a single "Uptown" released on Parlophone. He had more singles released in the 1960s. In the 70s, his releases included "Here It Comes" on the Decca label in 1971, and "One Is One" on the MAM label in 1974. Three albums of his released during the 1970s were The World Of Peter Gordeno in 1970, With Feeling in 1976 and the Norman Newell produced Peter Gordeno.

He hosted the televised Disco Dance 79 world finals.

His son is musician Peter Gordeno .
