Nicasio Tejada

Real name: Nicasio Tejada y Ramírez de la Piscina

Effective period / Period of releases: 1981

Also credited as Maestro Tejada. "Maestro" is a honor prefix, means "master".
Spanish conductor and arranger (Madrid, 1898-1971). Usually credited as conductor of Gran Orquesta De Conciertos.

He worked for Fábrica De Discos Columbia S.A. (San Sebastián) recording company, of which he was later artistic director. He took care of the zarzuela recordings during a lapse of time in which Ataúlfo Argenta seems to have been retired due to health problems during a few months in 1957. It was a link between the records of Argenta and those conducted by Indalecio Cisneros and Benito Lauret. He also had a small orchestra with which he performed in nightclubs and fashion venues in Madrid in those years.
