Devin Clark Jorgenson started Welcome Home Walker with Soda Pop Kids' drummer Alan Torres, after completing a month-long U.S. tour in 2007 and realizing that he wanted to write a set of simple R&B dance songs. The band kicked around for a few years before settling their lineup - Clark and Torres first with bassist John Wilkerson, replaced by Colin Jarrell and second guitarist Kerby Strom - and releasing a number of 7-inch records that are collected on the eight-song compilation Suds!

A single, planned for 2012, was never released.
