Goliath is an American hard-rock band formed in 1969, after the dissolution of Sons Of Sound, Kicks, and The XL's. The original line-up featured drummer Steve Peters (7), organist Ted Bennett, bassist Bill Peters (4), guitarist George Phelps, and front man George Egy III. Within a few months, Ted Bennett was replaced by Paul Mason (29), and this line-up recorded an album's worth of material, later released in 2009 on Gear Fab Records as Goliath - Goliath. One track ("Kentucky Roads") also featured Jim Kitchen, who would become a permanent vocalist for the group. After George Egy, George Phelps, and Paul Mason left to join the Carnations, which turned into Raven (55), the Peters brothers kept the group going with other members, who were signed by the small Bridges label and released the album Goliath - Hot Rock & Thunder in 1974.
