American bluegrass guitarist and band leader born January 23, 1936 in Cookeville, Tennessee. SMITH, BOBBY (1937-1992)
Born in Tennessee, Bobby Smith came to Dayton in the late 1950s with his brother Dallas. They played the Dayton bars for about a year before Bobby got a job playing guitar and singing lead with Bill Monroe. After a year with Monroe, Bobby and Dallas formed The Boys from Shiloh.
