Movits!

Effective period / Period of releases: 2008 - 2015

Members: Joakim "One Take" Nilsson, Anders Rensfeldt, Johan Rensfeldt

Swedish hip-hop group from Hertsön, a district in Luleå, consisting of the brothers "Johan Jivin" and "Mördar-Anders" Rensfeldt, as well as the saxophonist Jocke "One-Take" Nilsson from Piteå.

The group plays a mix of jazz and hip-hop. Movits! describe themselves as: "Django guitar, Wind and Streetswing. Music for the Art Director as well as for your mother!” Their debut album Äppelknyckarjazz was released in November 2008 and was warmly received by, among others, Dagens Nyheter.

The band name "Movits!" originates from Bellman's bass fiddle and French horn playing figure Father Movitz. However, they have chosen to spell with "S" to avoid the dance band vibes with a band name containing "Z" (Lasse Stefanz, Svänzons, Larz-Kristerz).

The group appeared on The Colbert Report on July 27, 2009, where they also performed the song "Wrong part of the yard". This clip contributed to them then touring the United States several times.
