Real name: née Madelyn Nicosia

American songwriter and singer from Buffalo, New York

In the 1940s, Russell sang various orchestras, including the orchestras of Skitch Henderson, Buddy Morrow (1946–1947), Vaughn Monroe (1947–1948), Tommy Tucker (2), and Art Mooney (2) (1949). In 1949, she signed a recording contract with Mercury Records. From 1954 to 1967 she was married to songwriter Jack Segal with whom she wrote several songs.
