Real name: Tommy M. 'Sonny' Lowery Jr

Born in Pryor, Oklahoma on June 5, 1936. Moved to CA in 1957 where he signed with Art Rupe's Specialty label. Two singles were released, the first in 1957 - "Thank You For Your Kisses" / "Do You Promise" (SP 621) and in 1958 "Goodbye Baby Goodbye" / "There's A Father Above" (SP 648). Both singles were produced by Sonny Bono. By 1962, Sonny tired of life in Hollywood and returned with his family to OK where he found religion and recorded a gospel album "King Of Kings" in the mid 60s. Sonny passed away aged 83 in Burleson, Texas on February 13, 2020.
