Real name: Rolf Verner David Björling

Swedish opera singer (tenor), born December 25, 1928 in Jönköping, died March 31, 1993 in Täby.

He was the son of the court singer Jussi Björling and the father of the opera singer Raymond Björling.

He has appeared in a wide range of operas and operettas, including Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Manrico in The Troubadour, Radamès in Aida, Rodolphe in La Boheme, Cavaradossi in Tosca, Calaf in Turandot, The Duke in Rigoletto and Don José in Carmen. In the summer of 1975, he had the role of Lustigs-Per in Skinnarspelet in Malung. Björling guest starred in 1970 at the San Francisco Opera in the role of Ismael in Verdi's Nabucco.
