Effective period / Period of releases: 1988 - 1989

Myleka Thompson got her start performing at the prestigious Apollo Theater (1984) and on Star Search (1986) before releasing her self-titled debut album on MCA Records in mid-1988. While the album received little acclaim, its lead single (Confess) managed to get some exposure in dance clubs around the globe (particularly in the Netherlands, where it even reached the top five of the dance chart.) Its second single (Trust In Me) made no impact whatsoever and Myleka subsequently disappeared from the music scene, although she briefly reappeared in 1997 as a co-writer and background vocalist on Rise by Veronica.
