CROATIAN NATIONAL THEATRE (HNK) OPERA ORCHESTRA in ZAGREB
- the origins are tied with the first theatre building which was located on St. Mark's square, where in 1870, under the leadership of Ivan Zajc, a permanent opera house was founded. Along with the opera and ballet activities, the orchestra is often performing symphonic concerts, which leads to eventual reorganization in 1919, when theatrical and philharmonic orchestra are separately formed. Ever since, the rich and versatile activities of the opera orchestra have been closely related to the faith of the entire opera ensemble and its repertoire.
