Ordo Catharis Templi was founded in 1987 as a literary cirkle of free-thinkers. Its most notable members were Paul Hostia and Thorn Hoedh. Starting in 1988, O.C.T. released their music on several homemade tape labels: Culturcreis TYR, O.C.T., and TANTRYS HASCYAH CAELISTYS. Ordo Catharsis Templi also published written texts under the label Vorum Lithyee in 1993-1994.
