Rec Center is a Hip Hop group formed in Elgin, IL (just outside of Chicago) in the mid 90's. The group originally consisted of 9 MC's - Bad Luck, G-NO, Prophet, Ikon, Reality, Maintain, Naugh-T, Mozes Gunn, Xclusive, and 1 DJ / Producer - DJ Emmaculate. The first single from the group was released under the name Monogenesis, which included Bad Luck and G-NO. They went on to release another 12" single and then a full length album titled "Lonely People" in 1999. The group disbanded in the early 2000's, but various members reunited over the years to create and release new music. The album Lonely People has been regarded as an underground classic of Chicago Indie Hip Hop. In 2022, Berlin based label, HHV, reissued Lonely People on limited edition double vinyl, CD, and Cassette.
