Saucedo started his career as one of the earliest Elvis impersonators when he joined Dan Lentino And The Fabulous Ambassadors at the age of 17 in 1972. He has led a successful solo career, occasionally performing with popular artists such as The Jordanaires, D.J. Fontana, J.D. Sumner & The Stamps, and The Sweet Inspirations. Citing influence from The Beatles and Pink Floyd, he notably produced the psychedelic-inspired album Rick Saucedo - Heaven Was Blue in 1978, which has become a highly-valued collector's item.
