“... rusty electronics, bending backwards and forward, rattling percussion, broken toys and ditto contact microphones make up for the psychedelic affair. This music is rainbow coloured, just like the many sound effects, amplified objects, and in fine John Cage tradition, the feedback becomes an integral aspect, which adds great urgency to the music. Ypsmael is an experimental music / non-music project with related monikers (Smaely P, Aelypsm, Psmaely, etc.) appearing live and in recordings since approx. 2009. All sounds by NM (b.1982 in St.Georgen, Black Forest), based at Lake Constance. Ongoing collaborations include Stefan Krausen (Berlin), Eloine aka Bryan Day (San Francisco) and Simon Whetham (Bristol).
