Martijn Padding

Martijn Padding (b. 1956) is a Dutch composer and music educator, head of the Composition Department at the Koninklijk Conservatorium, Den Haag. He studied composition with Louis Andriessen, instrumentation with Geert van Keulen, piano with Fania Chapiro, and sonology at the University of Utrecht. Padding mentored Katarina Glowicka and other composers.

Since 1998, Martijn Padding had been collaborating with the avant-garde quintet Ensemble Loos. They premiered Padding's opera Tattooed Tongues with a libretto by Friso Haverkamp at the Warsaw Autumn Festival in 2001.
