The Kepler Quartet is an American string ensemble based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and founded in 2002 to record microtonal string quartets of composer Ben Johnston (1926—2019). It took the musicians over 14 years to complete this audacious task, with 1.5 years alone spent rehearsing and recording Quartet No 6. A resulting series of three CD albums came out at New World Records, with the last one released in April 2016, just after the composer's 90th birthday.
