American songwriter and musical actor.Born c.1921 San Diego, California. Graduated San Diego State 1943.
He spent many years in New York and on tour in musical roles in shows such as "Oklahoma!", "Carousel" and "Kiss Me Kate".
While a music major at San Diego State, he composed the school’s alma mater song (different than the school’s fight song)—“Hail Montezuma.” First sung at commencement in 1942, “Hail Montezuma” has remained the school’s alma mater for over half a century.
