Real name: Greta Mathilda Wassberg

Greta Matilda Hülphers, originally known as Greta Wassberg, was a prominent Swedish singer born on October 5, 1904, in Selånger, Medelpad, Sweden, and she passed away on February 19, 1996, in Vancouver, Canada. She had a prolific recording career, producing around 150 recordings between 1932 and 1943. Greta Wassberg was also involved in recording children's tales for the Karusell brand in the late 1950s. Wassberg also recorded under pseudonyms such as Inga Waller and Inga Widén during her career. Her work extended to Germany, where she recorded for labels like Imperial and Polydor. In addition to her singing career, Greta Wassberg was a pioneer in the Swedish recording industry, co-founding the recording studio "Din egen röst" at Gröna Lund, allowing amateurs to make recordings. She also worked as a singing teacher and contributed her voice to several Swedish films by dubbing songs for actresses.
