Giorgio La Pira
Giorgio La Pira (1904-1977) was born in Sicily. Member of the Demorazia Cristiana 's party, he was considered to belong to the left-wing current of this party. He was the mayor of the city of Florence, in Tuscany, from 1951 to 1956, from 1956 to 1957 and from 1960 to 1965. Very respected and recognized for his simplicity, his sobriety and his probity.
