Burton Gaar

Real name: William Burton Gaar

Blues musician, bassist, singer and songwriter from Louisiana, USA. He started his musical career in 1959 at the age of 16 playing bass behind Slim Harpo. Throughout the 1960s he played with The Boogie Kings, and in the 1970s with Stone River Band. In the 1980s he joined Rockin' Sidney's band, and also spent five years as a writer/producer at a major studio in Houston, Texas. In the 1990s Gaar played several years with Percy Sledge, as well as released his debut solo album "Still Singing the Blues" (1995). He went on to release four more solo albums, One Hundred Pound of Trouble (1997), Mighty Long Road (2000), Home of the Blues (2003), and Friend Grits and Greens (2011).
