Teclados Fritos

Effective period / Period of releases: 1978 - 1983

Members: Manolo Benitez, Emilio Molina, José Maria Suárez, Jaime Llorca

Rock group emerged in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain) in 1976. Since its inception they became a clear reference of the frenetic musical activity that was forged in the Islands in the second half of the seventies of the twentieth century.
During their first two years they practiced a symphonic / progressive rock with extensive instrumental passages and when they sang, they did it in English. Also its image and staging was groundbreaking for the time, which attracted a lot of attention from the Spanish specialized media as it was a group that was not based in the Iberian Peninsula.
Rock, Glam and Sicodélica were marking the evolution of their musical proposal. His recordings never did justice to his sound on stage. In the early 80's they decided to move to Madrid to cement their trajectory and look for new opportunities.
But the Madrid stage of Teclados Fritos was not the springboard they expected. The music scene in Madrid was in full metamorphosis towards the New Wave and the Spanish Punk, later called "La Movida" and could not find their space despite being converted as a group in the Besos Rabiosos. They finally dissolved.
