Real name: Mayfred Nutter Adamson

U.S. actor/singer-songwriter/guitarist and actor. Born: October 19, 1941 in Jane Lew, West Virginia, USA.

Nutter made his first radio appearance at age 6 and hosted a music program on his local TV station. Nutter was leader of The New Christy Minstrels and had been guitarist for Del Shannon.

Songwriting protégé of Frank Zappa and frequent guest on Buck Owens' TV Ranch program. His song "Simpson Creek", about mining runoff, is considered one of the first environmental anthems.

As an actor, Nutter made appearances on The Waltons, Falcon Crest, Knots Landing and The Fall Guy. Named “Best Actor” for Lone Star Bar.

He is part of the Nashville Country Music Hall of Fame Walkway of Stars, The Rockabilly Hall of Fame, The Bakersfield Country Music Museum and the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame.
