Jos Kunst (1936, Roermond, The Netherlands - 1996, Utrecht, The Netherlands) was a composer, a musicologist and a poet. He began his music studies first with Joep Straesser (1963-1966) and then with Ton de Leeuw.

He graduated from the Amsterdam Conservatory in 1970 where he became later on a teacher of Contemporary Music and Composition. In 1975 he decided to stop composing to publish a collection of poems and his musicological theories [Filosofie van de muziekwetenschap or Philosophy of Musicology] in 1988..
