Formed in 2009 by singer and guitarist Ralph Pelleymounter with electric guitar player Ian Dudfield and bass player Josh Platman
Originally called "Kid iD", they renamed themselves To Kill A King after drummer Jonathan Willoughby and synth/keyboard player Ben Jackson joined the band

In September 2013, after Dudfield and Willoughby left the band, Grant McNeill and Joshua Taffel had taken their place
