Born: 29 March 1935, Cudworth, West Riding of Yorkshire, England – died 16 August 2023, Bray, Berkshire, England.

Sir Michael Parkinson CBE (affectionally known as "Parky") presented the eponymous chat show "Parkinson" on both the BBC and ITV TV networks in the UK for over 35 years between the 1970s and 2000s (1971–1982, 1987–1988, and 1998–2007 – moving to ITV 2004–2007). He also broadcast on radio, wrote as a sports journalist and authored several children's books.

He was well known as being a fan of jazz music and prominently featured jazz musicians on both his TV and radio shows over the years, along with other types of music.
