Real name: Владимир Георгиевич Шмидтгоф = Vladimir Georgievich Schmidthoff (real name Лебедев-Шмидтгоф = Lebedev-Schmidthoff)

(1900 - January 10, 1944) - Soviet film director.
In 1935, he made the film "Beethoven's Concert", for which he wrote the text of the pioneer march "Эх, хорошо!" (Эх, хорошо в стране советской жить...), the music for which was composed by Исаак Дунаевский. On April 1, 1938, he was arrested by the NKVD of the USSR on charges of espionage activities in favor of Germany. In 1939, his case was reviewed and he was released.
