Louse Detection
Real name: John McDonnell
Louse Detection was a project led by New York-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist John McDonnell, primarily active in 2011. Originally meant to be a plunderphonics project (which would later be realized in future project Dawktah), Louse Detection combined elements of experimental, electronic, and indie rock, all drenched in lo-fi. From May to July 2011, he recorded his self-titled debut full-length album, which was released on August 2nd, 2011, on the former MrHappyFace Records label. Between this, he contributed a few remixes of songs by Bye-Product, laid down guest vocals for a collaborative track with NintyScreen, and recorded some tracks for two MrHappyFace Records compilations. Though the project was set to have more releases in the form of EPs, they've never fully materialized, and by the following year, John McDonnell removed the Louse Detection record from Bandcamp. In 2013, the project had ended, with John pursuing different projects, including Dawktah since late 2011.
