Scarecrow

Effective period / Period of releases: 1978

Members: John Stewart (4), Dick Williamson, Bill Puplett, Dave Rumsey (3), Clive Yeats

British 1970s heavy rock band.
Born out in early 70s from the ashes of psych band Information (3) (two singles in 1969/70). Indeed John Stewart (vocals, guitar), Clive Yeats (bass), Bill Puplett (guitar) and Dave Rumsey(drumms) were formerly of this group. The new name was taken from the Pink Floyd's song on their legendary debut album. Despite many gigs (331 in 1974!) in England and also in Europe they never managed to get a recording contract. In November 1976 Clive Yeats left and was replaced on bass by Dick Williamson. During August Bank Holiday 1978 the band recorded two gigs, from which some tracks was issued on their sole album in the same year. Short after Scarecrow ceased to exist.
