Originally a three piece from the Blue Mountains, Australia, X Wave take a martial approach to punk and rock, with massively thuggish/F/X drenched guitar jams that give the nod to Japan’s Minor scene (Rotting Telepathies, Gasaneta et al) and take a twisted take on garage rock with their crude dismantling of craft. Hailing from Brisbane Australia’s underground, and also featuring Matt Earle, this group’s output feels closer to the original breakout rock and roll urge than any generic pretender, freaking with it in an intuitive high-energy style that has few parallels.
