Real name: Stephen Watson

S. Abstract is the moniker of Stephen Watson for his label Sabstract Records that was established in the year 2011. He first delved into electronic music during the late 1980s in Garland, Texas (a suburb of Dallas) as a pre-teen experimenting with boomboxes and his little sister's Casio SK-1 sampling toy keyboard. Later in the 1990s he got into drum machine and synthesizers mostly purchased from pawn shops with one of his big sister's high school friends named Behner Cloud who he previously befriended going to Dallas raves during the early 90s. They would record cassette demos during the mid 1990s while learning the ropes of music production using project studio equipment. He continued to create electronic music on his own in the 2000s with DAW and synth equipment, later moving New York in 2006.
