Driven was a Christian metalcore band from Granby, Connecticut. The band originally formed in 1993 under the name Release and was based in Columbus, Ohio. After relocating to Connecticut in 1995, and finding out that another hardcore band from the New England area was also named Release, they decided to change the band's name to Complete. However, after a few shows, the name was changed again to Driven.

In December 1996, after loosing their drummer and gaining a new bassist (the band's original bassist then switched to drums), the band changed name to Veiled. Veiled existed for about a year, until late 1997, at which time they decided to resume the use of the name Driven. However, they discovered that several other bands were already named Driven, and in late 1997, the band's name was changed again to Blood Has Been Shed.
