Formed in Providence, Rhode Island, U.S. by four Tavares brothers after the disbanding of Linda & The Del Rios. Originally named Chubby And The Realities, but changed it after Capitol Records suggestion.They were backed by the musicians of Quinn Harris's Preachers. After some singles at Capitol Records in the late 60's they were renamed Tavares adding their fifth brother Victor Tavares to their line up.
