US band Start was formed in early 1984 by Ran Ballard, Mike Tapogna and Dean McLeod, and has been dubbed as Progressive "hook-oriented" rock by many. Start was founded in LA with their recording studio based in Burbank. The band also had a finely crafted live show utilizing high-tech gear and a high-energy driving sound. However, due to unforeseen complications with some major labels they disbanded in 1986. Start reformed in 2019 to re-release their original album with new tracks re-titled "33 1/3 Too Soon", and recorded a new album that released in 2021 titled "20/20".
