He was a life-long resident of Lafayette, with brief stays in Lake Charles, LA; San Francisco/ Los Angeles, CA; and Portland, OR. He taught himself how to play the piano, the organ, the bass guitar, and keyboard. Using that talent he played the organ and was choir director at Assumption Church in Carencro, LA. He formed his own band, played with numerous local musicians and traveled with James Brown, Fats Domino and Solomon Burke. He later became an entrepreneur.
