Adam George Brown (16 July 1893 – 25 November 1971), who used the stage name Billy Russell, was a British comedian and character actor. He learned stagecraft from actors in English music hall theatre. He toured widely, in the 1920s and 1930s, doing comedic monologues, in character, often improvising his performance with comments on the latest newspaper headlines and on political events. With increased polarity in the 1930s he moved into film and then television.
