Miranda Murphy was a contestant on Popstars Live, an Australian Talent Program similar to Australian Idol in 2004, in which she was the runner up. On 12 July 2004, she released her single "That Girl", which placed at number 19 on the Australian singles charts on 22 July 2004. She was dropped by her record company soon after due to poor single sales and limited commercial appeal, and has not released any commercial music since.
