Johnny Moore

Real name: John Darrel Moore

American rhythm and blues singer and songwriter. Johnny was a member of the Drifters in 1955 before he was drafted (as lead singer, replacing the singer Rudy Lewis) and later from 1964 to 1978.
Born : December 15, 1934 in Selma, Alabama - Died : December 30, 1998 in London, England. (Respiratory failure)
He began as lead of the Cleveland based group, The Hornets, before being discovered by The Drifters.

There is some doubt regarding the writing of "My Islands In The Sun" credited to "John A. Moore".
