Salvator Rosa

Salvator Rosa (1615 – March 15, 1673) was an Italian Baroque painter, poet and printmaker, active in Naples, Rome and Florence. Based on a handwritten book of songs determined to be from Rosa's collection, it was for a long time assumed he was also a composer. Later research has established this was not the case, though songs from the book, such as Vado ben spesso (actually by Giovanni Bononcini) and Star vicino, are still regularly attributed to him.
