The Hamlins

Real name: Alton Brown & Alphonso Stewart

Alton ‘Canute’ Brown (b. 26 November 1947, Jones Town, Kingston, Jamaica, WI) & Egbert 'Alphonso' Stewart (b. 31 January 1945 , Clarendon, Jamaica, WI) formed the Hamlins in the early 60s, later recruiting Osmond Brown, although they never recorded as a trio despite interest from Duke Reid. Following Osmond Brown's departure to the UK in 1965 the duo released a few singles produced by Coxsone Dodd and only in 2001 a CD album appeared on Studio One consisting of re-recordings .
