Val Rosing

Real name: Valerian Rosing

British dance band vocalist
(1910-1969)
Performed with several acts, among them the Henry Hall Orchestra, the Jack Payne Orchestra and Jack Hylton's Orchestra.
Rosing sang the vocals on the first recording of the song "Try A Little Tenderness" in 1932. He also sang on the original recording of "Teddy Bears' Picnic"
Rosing recorded over 100 songs before moving to the United States in 1938. There he changed his stage name to Gilbert Russell.
In the 60s he worked as a vocal coach in Hollywood.
