Γιάννης Κύρης

Giannis Kyris is a Greek composer, producer, sound engineer, photographer and multimedia designer, born in Athens.

Original member of The U.L.S. and later shortly a member of Esquires Beat Group for one recording. In the early 1980's he played keyboards for Σύνδρομο on a series of live appearances, and for a Greek tour of a live presentation of Vangelis' orchestral work "Hiroshima" along with composer Vangelis Pitisiladis.
During 1985-1987 he released three solo records on vinyl (Life line / Πέμπτο φεγγάρι / Basketbeat)
In 1987 he started composing and producing music for advertising, for which he founded Kyris Ltd / Music Productions the following year and received numerous awards.
In 1989 he wrote the music for "Το δικό σου αστέρι", sung by Μαριάνα Eυστρατίου, which came 9th in the Eurovision Song Contest in Lausanne.
2005-2009: He wrote the soundtracks and was the sound designer for four short 3D films ("Fanataxia" , "Ο κύκλος της εξέλιξης" , "Broken Flower", "Steps") directed by Kostas Katrakis.
He wrote the music for "The weakness within", a short film by Mayea Pictures, directed by Maria Svoronou, which won the 1st award in Edinburgh Short Film Festival, 2009.
From 2004 onward he works at his own studio in Pallini, Greece.
