Mark Anthony Band
Late 1950s backing group used on recordings relating to or overseen by aka Anthony J. Hilder. According to the notes by Ray Baradat on the 1999 Rare L.A. Tracks (West Coast Style Vintage R&B And Doo-Wop, 1956-1964) compilation album, they were a white band that could play R&B. They were led by American Italian Mark Anthony a pianist "who played piano in the black idiom" . They also backed up some Hilder artists. Three tracks by the band, "Stop & Go", Crawlin'" and "Swamp Water" appear on the comp. One artist they backed was Rickey Agary on the single "Everybody Needs Someone Part 1/2" Bel Canto 45-BC-728 that was released in 1959.
